Over the years, ScreenPop has had a few different websites, with different designs and purposes. A few months ago, however, I decided it was time for another refresh, in order to bring our site in line with our current needs and support our ever-growing list of networking groups. We worked with Jack at QBD, one of our lovely members, to design a bespoke site that would benefit our members’ SEO, as well as making it easier for visitors to understand our networking model.
My primary reason for the website redesign was that I wanted separate pages for each of our groups. On the new site, each networking group’s page would contain the location and monthly timing of the meeting, a list of members and business category availability, as well as links to our members’ websites, which I knew would improve their SEO ratings. Having a clear list of who’s in each group is a great way to showcase our members, but it also helps prospective joiners and visitors to understand what categories have availability in different areas. I’m hoping this will mean I can spend less time fielding enquiries and checking my membership lists, which has been a full-time job in itself, some days!
The new site is centred around our wonderful members, with a focus on their testimonials and experiences, including videos and real photos from our meetings. It felt fitting to put the ScreenPop community at the forefront of our website, because our network is all about building real connections and focusing on the human side of business. I wanted to showcase the diversity of our members and the full range of benefits our meetings offer, not just in terms of sales and leads, but also the support and knowledge our members gain from attending ScreenPop meetings.
It’s been a long process, with several Zoom calls and hours of work from Jack and the QBD team, as well as videographer Greg Malone and copywriter Scarlett Clemmow (all ScreenPop members!), but we’re finally ready to launch the new site. I hope you love it as much as I do!
