Meet ScreenPop!
We initially set up ScreenPop as a response to the Covid pandemic, after seeing the impact lockdown was having on our own small businesses. While Penny publishes local magazines, Katherine had been successfully running in-person networking groups across Essex, Herts and London and was looking for a way to continue to network, despite the lockdown. We set up ScreenPop in May 2020 and quickly expanded, opening groups around the country over Zoom. But once life went back to normal, we realised that online networks were here to stay because they offered something totally different to traditional networking.
Our model is unique because it combines membership of a local group that meets once a month with the opportunity to visit other groups across the country. We also host three open meetings each month, where you can get to know members you haven’t met elsewhere and try out speed networking and breakout rooms.
With ScreenPop, you get all the benefits of meeting business owners who are local to you, but you can also expand your customer base to include people across the country, and beyond. Depending on your category, you could attend 7 or 8 meetings a month for just £10, plus your annual membership fee.
Many of our members run businesses that were once fully in-person. Now, they’ve expanded into new markets by changing up their business models and finding ways to bring their products and services online. We have members as far afield as France and Sweden who have found customers across the UK, and members in the UK who met online but live down the road! Our informal meeting style and friendly atmosphere encourage people to form genuine connections that overcome physical boundaries.
Whatever your business type, ScreenPop has something for you. We’re currently expanding our in-person offering, with existing ScreenPop Meets groups in Nottinghamshire and Hertfordshire, and more coming soon. Our meetings take place at a variety of times throughout the day, from our bustling early morning groups to our more laidback evening meetings, where attendees often have a glass of wine in hand!
